How do I get a blood test or receive a result?

If you need a blood test you can attend here at our practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 8.30 – 12.30. (no appointment is needed) The service is provided by Liverpool Community Health and is available not only for patients registered at Hillfoot Health, but to all Liverpool residents. There are other venues across the city you can access, please click here to find out more.

The sessions can sometimes be really busy and Liverpool Community Health asks that you arrive at least 30 minutes before the end of the session to ensure you can be seen.

Sometimes patients do have to wait to have blood taken. If you have taken a ticket then please do stay on the premises until you have been seen – it can cause unnecessary disruption and sometimes conflict if any patient is thought to queue jump!  We welcome your co-operation.


The practice will try and make contact with you if we receive test results which requires urgent attention. We may contact you by phone or text message. If we fail to contact you by these methods we will send out a letter. 


We will not normally contact you about normal test results or those which require no action. 


If you would like to confirm that your results are ok please give 7 days after after having your blood tests taken. Scan result can often take longer than 7 days.
